Not far from the cave-ins of Issom-Har, sits Salvagers' Drop- a grotto trading post on the banks on Rootslake. It connects the surface to a cavern system nearby is home to the Gelmorran enclave town of Gévaudan.The Lichen's Lantern tavern lies within it, owned and run by a local brewess and her family. In this place, the worlds above and below the old stone may meet.These days, South Shroudfolk and their friends gather here under the stones for a quieter, more neighborly crowd than up the road at the Druthers.The mun-tuy brew is still made the old-fashioned way here, a bubbly mineral spring feeds the soda tap, and each moon features new foragers' fare.

About Gévaudan & Salvager's Drop

Although Gelmorra was once a sprawling underground civilization ranging from Amdapor Keep to Alder Springs, its legacy is now found in small, isolated pockets of Gelmorrans who cling to the name and cultural identity abandoned by their kinsmen when Gridania was founded.One such pocket is Gévaudan — a small hamlet found deep in the winding passages of Issom-Har just southwest of Buscarron's Druthers. Although most adventurers know the old residential district as a cursed labyrinth brought to light by the Calamity, past the hazardous ruins and crumbling stonework lies a worn-down village many call home.On the southward edge of the village lies a series of grottos called Salvager's Drop, where the residents of Gévaudan have historically traded with their surface dwelling neighbors without having to set foot under the sun. It is in here on the threshold between two worlds that Lichen's Lantern opens its doors, offering hearty food and strong drink to Gévaudan's residents, friends of Gelmorra, and Shroudfolk alike.

About The Bar
Lichen's Lantern was established several generations ago and is considered a Vivandière family heirloom. It's a vital part of Gévaudan to this day, despite the dwindling population.It was once bigger, but after damage from the calamity, the Vivandières had to remodel in what little space was still safe to use. The erosion of heavy spring rains have again brought change to the shape of the stones in recent seasons, though much of the original charm has been preserved as possible.About The Bartender
Espoirette Vivandière ( Terra * ) has lived in Gévaudan her entire life. She inherited this bar from her grandfather, whom she adored, and is desperate to keep the place alive despite the dwindling population. There's just so many good memories here, and a city's night life is a vital part of it's culture.Terra is smug and playful, and knows just about every regular by name. She'll listen to your troubles and never gossip about them behind your back. Good luck getting dirt on other folks out of her too.She has a teen son who's so done with his dorky mother, but still helps out around the place sometimes. Though Terra worries he might not be so interested in taking over the family business. But time will tell.( * The nickname "Terra" came from a joke a long time ago, which no one remembers except her, and she refuses to remind anyone when and where it came from. )Chouxia
A mischievous purple Sylph lives around Lichen's Lantern. That one's name is Chouxia, and their favorite bit is hiding in produce and jumping out to scare walking ones. Chouxia doesn't seem interested in returning to the Sylphlands in the East Shroud, and is instead a beloved member of the Drop's community.

As such, we request that visitors follow certain courtesies so the tavern remains a friendly narrative space for the stories we want to tell.No fantasy racism
This includes colorism (i.e. making derogatory statements about skin tone), insinuations and accusations made on the basis of racial background, and fantasy slurs.No physical altercations inside the tavern

Gelmorran Lorebuilding:
Gelmorran and duskwight cultural lore as given in game is sparse, leaving a lot of room for the imagination of roleplayers. The roleplayers of Gèvaudan have communally developed and play a version of Gelmorra as it exists in the current-day that forms the basis for the Lantern.We play our Gelmorran headcanon pretty loud, but also consider Gelmorran culture to be a vibrant patchwork of traditions which have evolved and diverged in different settlements over centuries. Cases of conflicting lore will be treated as "the way of our cousins over there" — in the end, we're all bringing food to the table.
